Tamburai Chirume

Managing Director, ONEOFEACH

Tamburai Chirume is the co-founder of ONEOFEACH, alongside her mother Pauline Munemo — a brand rooted in African craftsmanship, known for hand-embellished leather bags, accessories, and lifestyle pieces. Designed in Cape Town for a global audience, ONEOFEACH has been showcased at institutions including the British Museum and the George Washington University Textile Museum, and currently operates from the Watershed at the V&A Waterfront and a long-term pop-up store in Seattle, USA. Tamburai is the founder of the Business of Creative Entrepreneurship (BCE), a U.S. Embassy-supported initiative that has trained over 900 women to build export-ready businesses. She is also a 2017 alumna of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitors Leadership Program. Together with her mother, she co-founded TAAF – The African Academy of Fashion, which trains young people in beadwork, craftsmanship, and fashion design, bridging the gap between skilled makers and employment in the creative industry. Tamburai is the author of two widely used secondary school textbooks on Clothing and Textile Technology in Zimbabwe and Malawi. She has spoken at the United Nations Headquarters and delivered a keynote at Meta’s EMEA conference in Dublin to an audience of 7,000. Her work has been featured in the Conscious Fashion Campaign in Times Square during New York Fashion Week. She is a two-time recipient of South Africa’s Exporter of the Year to the USA under AGOA (2021 and 2022), serves as co-vice chair of SAFLEC, and sits on the advisory board of Lhaude Africa. She is also a former board member of Fashion Revolution South Africa and a 2024 Fashion Revolution Ambassador in New York. Tamburai’s work continues to centre on expanding access to opportunity within the craft and creative industries, supporting the growth of globally relevant African businesses.
