Nthati Machesa
Nthathi is a concept artist from Qwa-Qwa, Free State, South Africa. She currently resides in Johannesburg and I specialises in both 2D and 3D work.
“My artistic journey began as a self-taught 3D artist. While my academic background is in IT Management and Informatics, my true passion has always been at the intersection of art, history, and technology, especially in the captivating worlds of comic books and character development. My ultimate goal is to become the Walt Disney of Africa.
“My artistic vision is deeply rooted in my African heritage. I draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of African history and spirituality, weaving together elements of fantasy and reality to create captivating narratives. My work is a reflection of my own dreams and visions, and through it, I hope to celebrate the beauty and complexity of African culture. I also use my art to explore universal themes of identity, connection, and transformation. I believe animation is a great medium as it allows me to capture and translate how I view the world.”
