Systems Designer & Researcher

Sanskruti Shukla is an Indian systems designer and researcher trained in Textile Design at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Her practice positions design as a mode of inquiry, with particular attention to participatory and material-led co-creation as tools for reimagining futures and transmitting endangered cultural knowledge in Global South contexts. She received the Most Distinguished Paper Award at the ICDHS14 Conference, IIT Delhi and is a Don Norman Design Award Laureate (2025). Her work has been recognised through national and international awards and residencies, including artist residencies with the NIROX Foundation South Africa (supported by the Inlaks Foundation), the Goethe‐Institut, and the Alliance Française Madras. Her research contributes to contemporary debates in design history, living heritage, and Global South knowledge systems.
